Lakebed Flying Site Condition Report

THE FIELD IS NOW OPEN!

The lake bed runway is NOW accessible .

Email from Rica Lynn, of the Edwards Real Property office, concerning driving on the lake bed:

“This email is to inform all parties utilizing the lakebed (North Rosamond Blvd., Township 9 North, Range 11 West,
Portions of Sections 17 &18) that the only AUTHORIZED entry/exit point is indicated by the Muroc Model Master sign.

From this moment on…Do not utilize any other entry/exit point without prior approval through the Real Property office.
Prior approval will take approx a week or more, so plan accordingly.”

General Notes:

While you're at the flying site, please keep in mind that we only have one lakebed location to fly from so PLEASE DO NOT DRIVE IN THE PITS!! Driving in the pits only breaks up the surface and makes it harder on our engines. So please keep your cars on the south side of the pit marker cones. Traffic cones separate the parking area from the pits. Do not cross this line with any vehicle!!
